MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS’ MEETING OF March 30, 2023

A meeting of the Board of Directors was held in person in North Berwick, Maine on March 30, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. with all members attending except Mr. Doiron.
Ms. Lovejoy made the motion and it was seconded by Ms. Janousek to go into executive session for Executive Session Pursuant to 1M.R.S.A. §405(6)(B) Readmission of a Student. All members voted in favor and the motion passed. In at 6:26 pm. Out at 6:39 pm.
Ms. Mallett made the motion and it was seconded by Ms Janousek to readmit the student under consideration. All members voted in favor and the motion passed.
Ms. Neubert made the motion and it was seconded by Ms. Janousek to go into executive session for Executive Session Pursuant to 1M.R.S.A. §405(A) Investigation of Complaints against a person or persons. All members voted in favor and the motion passed. In at 6:41 pm. Out at 6:50 pm.

Public Input: None at this time.
The board reviewed the minutes from March 16, 2023. Ms. Lovejoy made the motion and it was seconded by Ms Neubert to approve the minutes as amended. All members voted in favor and the motion passed.
Student Report: Ms. Echo Balistreri, student board representative shared her brief update. Noted that there are flowers coming up in the newly revamped court yard. She also noted that staff are taking brief breaks and walking outside to help refresh and uplift their classes.
The board then reviewed the updated FY 24 budget with the goal of approving it this evening. The Superintendent and business manager reviewed the documents and answered questions regarding new information on revenue and expenses.
Mr. Doiron made the motion and it was seconded by Ms. Neubert to approve the FY 24 school budget of $45,237,883.00 and the local share $22,724,136.00. All members voted in favor except Ms. Travers who opposed and the motion passed.
Ms. Neubert made the motion and it was seconded by Ms. Lovejoy to approve the FY 24 Adult Education Budget of $295,592.00 and local share of $90,265.00. All members voted in favor and the motion passed.
Ms. Neubert made the motion and it was seconded by Ms. Travers to approve the FY 24 School Nutrition program budget with a local share of $0.00. All members voted in favor and the motion passed.
Other:
Ms. Mallett will be judging the bus rodeo over April vacation this year.
Ms. Lovejoy made the motion and it was seconded by Mr. Doiron to adjourn the meeting. All members voted in favor and the motion passed.
